In Tulle, ACMETO bets on people to keep its staff

Address: ZI de Mulatet, 19000 Tulle, Tulle · Directions ↗

How can a small business keep its staff? That is the question at ACMETO in Tulle, which makes drills, milling cutters and punches for the luxury, automotive, aerospace and medical sectors. Instead of investing in computer-controlled machine tools, the company has chosen to bet on people. Yet it is hard to compete with larger groups whose works councils offer holiday vouchers or meal vouchers. Despite soaring raw material prices, ACMETO is doing well by producing in small batches, repairing worn tools so they last longer and designing custom tools for its customers. It still needs workers: it has 6 employees, including one apprentice.
