Allassac: Police Helicopter Deployed to Track Down a Fugitive

A gendarmerie helicopter flying at low altitude over Allassac on Tuesday afternoon puzzled local residents. The aircraft had been deployed to find a man on the run after an altercation between two people, one of whom was carrying a knife. The fugitive had headed towards a railway tunnel on the Paris-Toulouse line, then reportedly entered an underground conduit leading towards the Travassac slate quarries area. He was finally arrested by the gendarmes at the exit of the tunnel.
