A high-school student protest marked Tuesday 29 September in Brive-la-Gaillarde. After a handful of students tried to blockade the Lycée Georges-Cabanis, the movement converged on the Cité scolaire d'Arsonval, where the entrances to the middle school and high school were blocked, joined by students from the Lycée polyvalent Simone Veil. The protesters denounce endless school days – one Thursday schedule described as a "marathon" – boarding forced on them by overloaded timetables, and classes left uncovered for lack of substitute teachers. On Tuesday afternoon students did not yet know whether the blockade would continue; another action could be organised next Friday.
