Condat paper mill site pivots to AI computing power

The SPB group, Société de participation de la Braye, set out yesterday the future of the former Condat paper mill site at Le Lardin-Saint-Lazare, in Dordogne, a century-old plant it took over after receivership. Thousands of computers are to be installed there to supply computing power to French and European companies, with the heat they generate reused for market-garden greenhouses and wood-processing activities. Twenty-one employees still work on the site, while 175 others were laid off in the March redundancy plan. To help them back into work, the Dordogne prefecture is coordinating a job-dating session tomorrow afternoon at the Espace Jean Rouby in Terrasson-Lavilledieu.
