Since Thursday evening, Malemort has a new mayor: the town council has chosen Florence Duclos to lead the municipality. She succeeds Laurent Darthou, who was elected president of the Corrèze departmental council. He remains a deputy mayor, third in rank, in charge of the town's attractiveness. This means he keeps control of the thorny issue of the Géant hypermarket and its shopping arcade.
