Ussel maternity unit: citizens' committee rallies against Brive mother-and-child hub plan

Opposition is building in Ussel against plans for a mother-and-child hub in Brive, which could lead to the closure of Ussel's maternity unit. A citizens' support committee has been set up to protest against the loss of gynaecologist, paediatrician and midwife posts. It also condemns a "vicious cycle" of public service closures that moves these services further away from where people live.
