Are Tulle and Ussel maternity wards under threat? Union warns of a mother-and-child hub in Brive

According to the CGT union, a plan for a mother-and-child hub in Brive would bring together the maternity, paediatrics, paediatric intensive care and gynaecology departments of Corrèze's three hospitals on a single site, outside Brive hospital, by 2030. The maternity wards in Tulle and Ussel would then close. The union says the plan is being drawn up without consulting staff or being open with them, while talks are reportedly under way between hospital management and the mayors of the three towns concerned. Management will neither confirm nor deny the plan, and the mayors of Tulle and Ussel say they know nothing about it.
