Limousin Apples: Worst Harvest in Ten Years

The drought has left its mark on the orchards of the Pomme du Limousin appellation: with no rain in spring and repeated heatwaves, the fruit simply could not grow. Growers describe it as the worst harvest in ten years, with losses above 25% and reaching 30 to 40% in some orchards. The apples are so small that even the processing industry may not take them for compote. More worrying still, the intense heat has compromised the buds for the 2027 season and accelerated the decline of many apple trees.
