Drought: A Davignac Hamlet Left Without Tap Water

Like the rest of the department for the past two weeks, Corrèze is under "crisis" status, the highest drought alert level, after the first restrictions were issued in mid-June. In Davignac, between Égletons and Meymac, the spring supplying one hamlet has dried up: local councillors regularly deliver packs of bottled water to residents, who need it for drinking, washing, laundry and sanitation. Concern remains high, as the spring cannot recover without genuine, abundant rainfall. The municipality is currently looking at connecting water tanks to the network, since building a reservoir is impossible on this granite ground.
