Senate Race: Eight Tickets Compete for Corrèze's Two Seats

Candidate registration for the French Senate elections has closed: as of yesterday, eight tickets are officially running to succeed Claude Nougein and Daniel Chasseing, neither of whom is seeking re-election. In the order they were filed with the prefecture: Valéry Elophe and Amélie Rebière (National Rally); Emma Blondel, a councillor in Saint-Pantaléon-de-Larche who has left the RN, with Jean-Luc Verdonckt; Thomas Jacquelin and Sonia Troya for the Socialist Party; Green regional councillor Amandine Dewaele with Florent Moussour; Rémy Runfola (La France Insoumise) with Michèle Coudoin; Pascal Coste and Aurélie Gibouret-Lambert for Les Républicains; Julien Bounie, also LR, with Claude Chirac as his substitute; and Olga Boudin with Nicolas Marlin. According to the figures given, 761 senatorial electors — MPs and regional, departmental and municipal councillors — will vote on Sunday 27 September 2026.
