Tulle: rally after father facing deportation order is detained

The citizens' group Corrèze Solidarité gathered yesterday morning outside the Tulle police station after a father living in the prefecture town was detained at six in the morning under a French deportation order. According to the group, the man has four children in Tulle schools, from nursery to secondary level, and holds a job offer from a farm, lacking only the papers needed to regularise his situation. The daily La Montagne reported that he was released around midday. A fresh rally is announced for this afternoon at 5 p.m. outside the Corrèze prefecture.
