A Night in Reygade to Count the Dragons of Our Forests

On Saturday 17 October 2026, from 8pm to 10.30pm, Reygade, between the Dordogne and Cère valleys, hosts "La Nuit des Dragons", devoted to salamanders. The evening starts with an interactive presentation of the fire salamander and the other amphibians found in the Xaintrie area, followed by a night walk of about 800 metres in the wooded Roquecourbine valley. The aim is to observe and count adult salamanders in their natural habitat, as part of a national citizen-science programme. Boots, warm clothing and a torch are essential; booking is compulsory and, thanks to the local rural association, admission is free for under-18s.
