Saint-Martial Crypt: two thousand years of history beneath Limoges

On Saturday 17 October, from 5pm to 6pm, a tour of the Saint-Martial Crypt in Limoges reveals the archaeological remains of the former Saint-Martial Abbey. It covers nearly two thousand years of history, from Gallo-Roman times to the abbey's heyday in the era of Eleanor of Aquitaine, and helps explain how the city began. The tour is part of the Ville d'art et d'histoire (City of Art and History) programme.
