From Saturday 3 to Sunday 11 October 2026, the European Birdwatch Days – EuroBirdwatch – take place across France. The LPO invites the public to witness one of autumn's great spectacles: the passage of hundreds of millions of birds heading to wintering grounds sometimes thousands of kilometres away. Alongside naturalists, all ages can learn to identify migrating species and understand their remarkable travel strategies, through field outings, observation points, talks, exhibitions and workshops. Created in 1993 by BirdLife International and coordinated in France by the LPO, the event has times and venues that vary from site to site; full programme at lpo.fr.
