"Jardins intérieurs": vegetable gardens behind prison walls, a free screening followed by a meeting with the director

About this event

The Louis Jouvet cinema in Uzerche is showing "Jardins intérieurs", Olivier Gil's documentary (1 hr 14 min), filmed at the Saint-Martin-de-Ré high-security prison. There, inmates serving long sentences grow their own vegetable gardens. Through gardening they rediscover the rhythm of the seasons, the pleasure of harvesting and sharing, a connection with living things and a kind of everyday freedom. After the screening, audiences can talk with Olivier Gil, in the presence of the national association of visitors to people under judicial supervision. Admission is free.
