From Saturday 17 to Monday 19 October, from 10am, the Champ de Juillet in Limoges hosts the Journées Limousines Or Rouge, celebrating the Limousin cattle breed and the know-how of the whole industry. The programme includes livestock competitions, auctions of more than 120 cattle, butchery demonstrations, Limousin beef tastings, a mini-farm and meetings with local breeders and craftspeople. Visitors can also watch a young butchers' competition, enjoy music from brass bands (bandas) and discover farming innovations at the Agritech forum. Round tables will look at the future of livestock farming in the Massif Central, and admission is free.
