Martel Turns Into an Open-Air Stage for Four Days

From Thursday 8 October at 8.30pm to Sunday 11 October, the medieval town of Martel, in the neighbouring Lot, hosts the 5th Rencontres Théâtrales de Martel. Five companies perform at the Palais de la Raymondie and seven more around the village, its landmark sites and public gardens. Anne Roumanoff opens the festival on Thursday evening with "L'âge libre", ahead of a weekend mixing theatre, dance, clowning, singing, music and readings. Admission is free for under-15s and a 30-euro pass covers three shows: "La Bascule", "Comment va le monde ?" and "Un pour tous, moi d'abord !"; bookings online and at the tourist office counters.
