About this event

On Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November, the Espace culturel in Chancelade, on the edge of Périgueux, hosts the third Mushroom Fair. The Société mycologique et botanique du Périgord guides visitors through an exhibition of more than 400 species, alongside craftspeople, nature stands, talks and workshops on mushrooms in every form: wood, jewellery, pottery, chocolate, paintings and sculptures. On Saturday the fair opens at 10am, with an oyster mushroom growing workshop at 3pm (booking required, 30 euros). On Sunday, a free guided mushroom walk starts at 9am, followed from 11am to 1pm by a free scents and flavours workshop at the Château des Reynats, then another oyster mushroom workshop at 3pm. Drawings by Chancelade schoolchildren are on display and food is available both days.
